The
Importance of Testimonies
Throughout the Bible we
read of the Miracle-Working, Awe-Inspiring, Great and Mighty
God. He is Creator (Genesis
1:1), Healer (Exodus
15:26), Deliverer (Luke
4:18), Savior (Titus
3:5) and Friend of all Humanity (John
3:16;
John 15:13-14).
We can open the Bible at any page and without reading very
long will find some kind of miracle. God specializes in the
miraculous. He is God after all and the Bible says that He
cannot change! (Hebrews
13:8)
If this is true then why
do we have to read about these miracles in the Bible? Why
don't we see them in real life today? Some theologians will
answer with: "Well people needed miracles more in those
days. God just does not work like that anymore." Skeptics
will say: "That is just another proof that the Bible is a
fairy tale." Well meaning Christians will blush and say:
"Well it is because of our lack of faith." What do you say?
I do not have all the
answers to life, but I do know this: God is still in the
same business!! He still performs wonders and He never
ceases to amaze me. True, there are many factors
contributing to the seemingly scarcity of the miraculous,
but in every meeting, at an excitingly increasing frequency
and intensity we see miracles that are comparable to the
works Jesus did 2000 years ago! The sole purpose of
presenting these testimonies is to honor God and bring Glory
to His mighty Name. You will read some pretty amazing stuff,
but friend remember that none of what you read can be
accredited to any person. We are nothing! Jesus Christ is
everything.
