I heard

Preface
Heaven is not a silent
place. Its throne room is filled with noise. The
character of God is to commune, to share, and to
express. To talk to the ones He loves. Throughout
the pages of the Bible we find God in conversation
with people. We call the sacred book the word of
God. It is God’s communication with humanity!
When God speaks everyone
that hears His voice listens. His voice carries
creative power. His very words cause a fusion of
atoms, a creation of substance, an appearing of that
which has never been onto the scene of the present.
He said:
“Let there be light
and there was light.”
Simple, yet effective.
The Bible does not say where the light came from.
Remember the sun was not yet created. The voice of
God is not only heard but felt and seen. It knows no
boundaries, is limitless in power and does the
impossible. The moment they are formed, His words
set out to accomplish precisely what the heart of
God intended.
“Out of the abundance
of the heart, the mouth speaks.”
His words never fall to
the ground becoming useless; giving up on the task
at hand. They’re not idle. They know no neutrality.
They flow in the direction He spoke them with one
purpose in mind: “We must accomplish what we were
created to do.”

Ability to speak and to listen
-
The ability to speak
presupposes the ability to listen. How can you talk
if you cannot hear? Effective communication warrants
transmitters and receivers, ears and a mouth,
projector and
screen, pen and paper. Almighty God
can do both! He speaks and listens. In fact, nothing
escapes His ears! He is aware of every word, whisper
and thought ever made!
Amazingly He also made
you with the ability to communicate. Not only with
others on this level of our natural existence, but
also with Him on the level of His spiritual
existence.
“God is a
Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is
liberty.”
The Lord has given you
freedom to; among other things express yourself
freely. You have received the ability to speak words
He listens to and hear words He speaks! This is
remarkable. People come standard with this built-in
ability. You do not need an upgrade to hear God’s
voice. You do not need a separate attachment or some
other thing. You are equipped to communicate with
the Creator of heaven and earth!
Communication is not
always verbal. Pictures talk. A great artist has the
ability to do with a picture what a poet can do with
a paragraph. The Lord does not always use words when
He speaks. Sometimes He speaks in pictures, dreams,
visions, thoughts, actions and impressions. He
employs a variety of media, audio-visual and
evocative methods to get His messages across. In
this book we will explore many of them. We will
learn how to listen for and hear the voice of God.
We will learn to develop a sensitive ear along with
a sharp spirit and clear mind to commune with
Almighty God in a regular and profound way.
We will explore the five
spiritual senses you received from the Lord while we
position our lives for encounters with the Lord,
encounters that will transform our lives, make
deposits into our souls and bring divine order to
our existence. Your ability to hear the voice of the
Lord and obey it is directly connected to the
blessings God wants to bestow on your life.
“If you will diligently
listen to the voice of the Lord your God, being
watchful to do all His commandments which I command
you this day. . . all these blessings shall come
upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of
the Lord your God.”
Together we will discover the awesome power even one
word from God can have; a declaration from Heaven
powerful enough that it will cause a flow of
purposeful direction, focused vision and defined
destiny in our lives.
