Pregnant and Loving it!(Written by Dr. Rudi Swanepoel)“In the last days, says the Lord, I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh.”
What does this mean? Who is the Holy Spirit? What does He
do? How does He work? What can I do to optimize His work in and through me? What
are the gifts of the Holy Spirit? How do they work? Why do we speak in tongues
and what does it mean? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit? What happens
when I am filled with the Holy Spirit? These questions and other need to be
answered. I believe the Lord wants to answer them to you personally. In our ministry we have designated the month of May to be Month Of The Holy Spirit. We did not just pick May at random for this important time and teaching. I believe the time between Easter and Pentecost to be very important in the life of a church. In the 50 days after the resurrection, the Lord made final preparations for the birth of what we call church today. It is important for every believer to designate and time, every so often to dedicate to the work of the Holy Spirit. Please understand me on this: I know the Holy Spirit works on a continual basis in our lives. I also know that we should be dependent on Him for everything. That is besides the point I’m trying to make. God is a Revealing God. He wants to make things known to us; to stretch the level of revelation in us. Designate a season every year to the Holy Spirit specifically for preparation for what is to come. As I sat down to pray one day, the Lord whispered something wonderful in my ear. He said: “I want to prepare you and the church for the birthing of something new.” It takes 9 months, after conception, for a baby to be born. Sharon and I started our ministry here in Elyria in October 2000 with a week of revival meetings. During that week our church was impregnated in the realm of the spirit. Something new was starting to happen. Changes had to be made. Pregnancy is both wonderful and frustrating at the same time. Wonderful because of the new life growing in you and frustrating because of the completeness of change. Nothing will ever be the same again. A time of preparation for new life has begun. Many wonderful things have been birthed already and we are enjoying them every step of the way. What is really wonderful though is that you can give birth in the spirit and become pregnant again, all at the same time! Did I just hear some mother gasp? You see church is like a maternity ward, always bringing forth-new life. Well, new spiritual life can only come for the Holy Spirit The Church of Jesus Christ is about to give birth to something incredible, new life that will absolutely blow your mind. Are you ready? Every meeting, minute and devotion will have to be dedicated to the Holy Spirit to keep us prepared on what waits for us around the next corner of life. On Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday evening or whenever you have church, you should sit around the Word and embark on a discovery of the Holy Spirit. We also have to give the Holy Spirit plenty of room to do what He does best: To glorify Jesus. I know you will never think the same about the Holy Spirit. As a matter of fact, you will never be the same again! Keep your spirit pregnant so you will always have an abundance of new life flowing from you.
